A momentous opportunity for the region
MSI Asia Pacific is thrilled to welcome the announcement that Melbourne will host the next Women Deliver Conference in 2026. This globally significant event provides a vital platform for advancing gender equality, sexual and reproductive health and rights worldwide. It is an incredible opportunity for the Asia and Pacific regions to spotlight their achievements, challenges, and opportunities in the pursuit of gender equity.
Women Deliver has a rich history of fostering action and collaboration. Founded by sexual and reproductive health and rights advocates in 2007, the organisation has been instrumental in bringing global attention to the critical connections between gender equality, health and development.
Since its inaugural conference in London, Women Deliver has grown into one of the world’s largest convenings focused on gender equality and women’s empowerment. The most recent event in Kigali, Rwanda, in 2023 gathered thousands of advocates, leaders and changemakers from over 165 countries, focusing on critical themes such as climate resilience, education, and sexual and reproductive health and rights. For many participants, it was a catalyst for innovation and collective action.
“The announcement of Women Deliver 2026 in Melbourne is not just a win for Australia but for the entire Asia and Pacific regions. It’s a moment to reimagine what’s possible when diverse voices come together to champion gender equality. MSI Asia Pacific is ready to engage with partners and amplify the experiences and expertise of the communities we serve.”
Bonney Corbin
MSI Asia Pacific’s Director of External Relations and Advocacy
The decision to host Women Deliver 2026 in Melbourne underscores Australia’s growing role in advancing gender equality globally. With its strategic position in the Asia and Pacific regions, Melbourne offers a unique stage to amplify the voices of women, girls, and gender-diverse people from some of the world’s most dynamic yet overlooked communities.
As an organisation committed to ensuring universal access to contraception, safe abortion care, and sexual and reproductive health and rights broadly, MSI Asia Pacific is well-positioned to contribute meaningfully to Women Deliver 2026. We look forward to showcasing our work, particularly our efforts to address geographic challenges, empower youth, and support climate resilience in delivering SRHR across the region.
“Hosting Women Deliver in Melbourne highlights the importance of our region in the global movement for gender equality. This is a rare opportunity to bridge the gap between global dialogue and local action, and MSI Asia Pacific is committed to being at the forefront of these conversations.”
