Board update

After twelve years of service Glenyce Johnson has stepped down as a Board Director of MSI Asia Pacific. As a successful entrepreneur and former Telstra Businesswoman of the Year, Glenyce brought a keen financial eye to the Board’s oversight of MSI Asia Pacific’s operations. Executive Officer and Regional Director Chis Turner said “Glenyce always brought warmth and wisdom to the governance of MSI AP and we thank her for so many years of dedication to our cause.”

You can read more about our current MSI Asia Pacific Board Directors here. Our Directors have a diverse range of skills, knowledge and experience across a range of sectors, which they bring to bear on the strategic direction, drive for results and risk management of the organisation. To provide a wider perspective to the Board and to support young aspiring leaders, for the second year we are also participating in The Observership Program.

This year-long program provides training and practical experience in not-for-profit board leadership and ongoing networking opportunities to create a passionate and motivated community of future leaders. In 2022, we welcome our new board observer Sarah Boyd and look forward to working with her over the year ahead.

In one final board update we would also like to congratulate Professor Ian Howie on the publication of Reflections on a United Nations’ Career: An Insider’s Account. This is his memoir of three decades working with the United Nations across nine countries as a development practitioner in the global aid sector. More information is available at Springer Publishing.
